All good things
At some point things will come to an abrupt stop hobby wise, but for now I continue to search for little projects. It’s the only thing that is getting me through a period of uncertainty for me and my family, my little refuge.
So a trip around the second hand stores was had and lo and behold!
A bundle of Star Wars miniatures! Not only that but a tin to keep them in, so even if I do not get started hopefully they will be transportable for the impending upheaval.
The Cowboys and Indians project is in full swing and will shortly see an outing. Mind you under pressure from my son after seeing the Star Wars find! He is wanting to get them on the table now. And my daughter after seeing the WW2 all set up had a go!
I have been fortunate to bolster the line of WW2 Paras so I feel Grants Battle will see another outing too.
I tell you it is weird, you can have all the flash books and fine figures (which I’ve had plenty in the past); but something like doing this strikes a chord and the games have proven to be more fun(well for me any way). Also it’s attracting attention from my children which is amazing as they will get so much out of it!
By way of writing I am not bless, so my aim is purely to show you what/how I’ve done it. Most of the games will be my understanding of Grant’s or Featherstone’s writing, other favourites are Morschauser’s, Portable war game, Asquith and one hour war game rules. If changing anything I will tell you the where’s, how's and why’s.
On solo gaming and playing, I use common sense for most outcomes. I try and balance this with an impartial view and sporting attitude!
What ever the fates decide, I want to see the story unfold on my table top.
