Campaign 1st leg

Okay so things are going really well and it’s good fun too!  Playing through this really helped me see what I needed to work on to make it extra great to play. I’ll spill the beans after giving you what happened yearly, it makes for a great story and really brings the whole thing to life. I’m glad I made some wargaming notes.

On the second year there was continued fighting over Thiva, Athina managed to sway Epirus to the cause and Sparti suffer from the plague.

On the third year naval actions took place in the Aegean Sea, the Athina won all three actions to only loose the land based battle at Rodos. Sparti have a good harvest, but Athina suffers from plague this time.

On the fourth year naval battles rage at Rodos which Sparti claim victory and Athina win a naval battle near Thiva.  Sparti suffer the plague effects and Athina have a very bad harvest.

On the fifth year Sparti loose at Thiva weather and harvest still wither both sides down.

In the sixth year both sides hit a rest state which sees Athina in low spirits, Sparti however make good on relations to Korinthos.

In the seventh year Sparti have nearly dominated the map however Athina make a bold move to take Korinthis and move in the take Sparti itself ! Sparti make a pact with Argos, the Athina collect their greatest harvest.

8th year brings Argos to heel, keeping up the pressure on Sparti, Athina attacks but their army is completely destroyed in a bloody battle. Both sides at breaking point sued for diplomacy, thus ending the first battle for the land.

Conclusions and possible improvements.

The first thing I need to do is go back to the original results set out by Morschauser.  I am going to set an amount of armies per side say 2. Also set a number of years to be played 3-5.

Introduced a points value win a battle/location 1 pt, take a capital 2pts.

Re write of events to better match newer format but retaining new events at 3rd map moves.

I am a bit concerned with my map so will end up re drawing for the 2nd leg of Polis war.
