Things that have caught my attention
I would like a map so attempting to get one up and running for the shock period. An imagi-nations attempt at some city state squabbling
Command - I’ve been just testing out stuff with IGO UGO, so I’ve been throwing around and testing some systems to add tension to my games. From a dedicated these will go first system, to proper commands and finally this is how many units the command can activate. For the shock period I’ve had a go at roll offs, highest score goes first but they only move say a group a time, the broken movement makes a time lapse in manoeuvres which is interesting and keeps my attention.
Firing- also working in with the movement, how they are moving, move forward to engage in melee or move forward to form line and fire. This might be of benefit to the levy/rabble (3/2 battle power) as they will take advantage of the hit on 5,6 on a 1d6. Do I really need it? Will it get tested? Well at least the idea is in the stew pot.
I have had a look at other battles/periods but been mainly gaming the first Carlist war. Compared to the later I have had very few shock period games at the moment.
Still sifting through books and the internet for other flash’s of inspiration. Morschauser’s gridded ancient period looks the ticket but I need to buff up on it a little more. It’s simple but dynamic and I want to get it right because it looks like it could be great fun!
