Release Radar:

A look at miniatures, I glanced quite liked the crooked dice releases. 

Quick fire a look at the readerships efforts, some great stuff but only 2 page spread.

Causing a Ruckus (main theme) :

Mike Peters and co tell us about Ruckus the free game this month, three page interesting enough read.

***A quick break here to have a look at Ruckus the rule book.  Now I was really getting into this and really got excited about it. It’s presented well and reads (for me ) excellent I caught up pretty quick.  Right so the cards, didn’t put me off, what an excellent and interesting idea, they really drive the narrative.   Unfortunately for me it means I have to write them or print them at the library,  you have to down load them.  So unfortunately it will sit there with the others until time permits at some point.***

Melee in the age of Penda:

Daniel Mersey article, interesting read about how Steve Jackson games 1970’s stuff helped develop some ideas.

The rest is summed up with this picture, read very little else fully.

Are wargaming magazines for me any more? I would say yes, just because some bits and bobs were not to my taste doesn’t mean there will be nothing. 

Was it worth while ? I think so, I gained a lot from what I did like, if my personal circumstances were different I would have been able to have a go at Ruckus.

 Recently I’ve been playing a lot of Portable Wargame.  It’s a great little game with a lot of scope! Plus the fact that you can scale it down to a 3x3 board, handily craft some 2mm blobs for it and away you go! (Perfect for my current position, which isn’t great). Out of pure amusement and curiosity I wondered what it would play like, if I for go the roll for hitting….and just rolled to see what has been done. In this game I shall try and show this silliness to which has given me much amusement. Now of course there will be a few amendments but very simple ones: Flanks/rear attack -1 to the result Attack troops in a defensive position -1 to the result The opposing tray(s) will of course gain a bonus +1 for the above. Now here’s the tricky bit…. If modified to 0 or below remove the tray If modified to 6 or above the tray suffers nothing Of course the or result is if the unit cannot move back because of intervention of other trays. The Void

 So for now, my family and I are housed, temporarily. Recently life has been pretty harsh, we have had to move out and quickly, we have done it almost in six days with very little to do today.  Sign of the times I guess. The effort on all of us has been mentally and physically challenging, cracks appeared but we march on into the void. My children were complete troopers, lending a hand where they could. It’s going to be difficult, but at least we have a roof above us, as opposed floating in the air like a discarded carrier bag. So what now what of my hobby?  (Up cycled art box that almost went to the dump!) Well I have this blog and a whole heap of ideas for games(some that I haven’t had yet) with my handy kit, when I get time I can either play, create or paint. Like many people with depression and anxiety, this hobby helps so much, I would be lost with out it. I’ve been playing, creating and enjoying this multifaceted hobby since the age of 11. Wombel report

No game of WW2, but that’s okay I’ve had two great games and the gaming butterfly has carried me away! I’m embracing many finds that excite the imagination. Making some basic scenery for the Wild West, still to get them on board but will have the simple to store supplies ready when time drops. A game with the Star Wars miniatures using ‘close wars ‘ by Featherstone. Worked out great and a very entertaining game, when all forces are on the table work a method to see how the bounty hunters and troopers react to each other, the troopers in my game disposed of the bounty hunters ha! Easier on the hands than milliput and a great resource find. Hoping to get some interesting shapes for a 2mm project, get the look of mass brawling armies on table again! Also should be the perfect portable project. Sadly our time is up and real life has taken over.
