Back to the frontier!

This time we are in Afika, following the exploits of a Sir Royce Bunster against canny native’s the Madelites lead by Takaj-Elam.

The Burgundy Company seek to weaken the hold of pass areas by taking specific watch towers.  The first on their list, Autimu fort.

The start of the engagement, on right the Company and left the Madelites

It was interesting trying to manoeuvre each force into some kind of dominant position, the Madelites came off worse on an early exchange for the top of the pass.

The Company make good on controlling the bottom of the pass, finally getting their lighter Burgundian guns into position.

So far losses are 4 infantry for the company: 4 cavalry and 1 infantry for the Madelites.

The company have come off the better after some skirmishes and are setting up position to take Autimu.

Have the Company got it in them to take the tower? At the moment artillery has been ineffective and they are suffering to get a good position.

The Madelites are holding on, but the company still seems to have the upper hand for the time being.

In the end the Company won through, it was very bloody but the Madelites were seen off.

The Madelites kept on feeding troops down the road and with the bigger Artillery were causing trouble for the Company.

Both leaders survive to fight another day, though Takaj-Elam proved his ability in seeing an opening and cut down the light artillery!

It took me a couple of days to play this through, thanks to Alcove HQ I could do this.  I am still enjoying a Morschauser’s gridded rules but at the moment they are a bit “total wipe out “.
