Cards, die and bust.
So what have I been up to,
Resources 2d6 and a deck made up with just the cards 3-9.
2d6 to get over the card number flipped
From the above example 4 or more
This would quite simply cause a strength point, if failed the attacker would get forced back.
I’ve also tried the break downs of
4 or more would cause the enemy to be pushed back
6 or more would cause the enemy a strength point
8 or more would cause the enemy to be destroyed
Another trial for combats was taking the above draw of 6 as example,
2 would cause the attacker 1 SP
4 would cause the attacker to be forced back
6 or more would cause the enemy to be pushed back
8 or more would cause the enemy a strength point
10 or more would cause the enemy to be destroyed
All the testing is in my little Roman Civil war of “Ridiculum”
Staring Costantinious (Black) and Andulous (Red).
The battle of Phaliculus.
Of course, all the testing made my brain hurt and now I’m none the wiser for my efforts. I have also given it a go with Portable Wargames ancient rules, this went really well with the random card flips. Note I did only use cards number from 3-6 for the random strengths for battles.
