Forgotten but not lost

Now I was pleasantly surprised rediscovering this in a recent dig in boxes.

I was, if you remember, after those Star Wars micro figures for a bit of  “carpet wars”.

Marvel Battle World does not disappoint, as games go it’s pretty damn rounded.  The basic premise is capturing zones and if you are lucky enough to win a Thanos stone from a zone you can draft a new Hero to help!

This game system uses a 1D12 to beat the target number (TN) on a zone tile.  The hero’s you pick will have bonus's depending on statistics and maybe even a special effect.

Depending on winning battles your hero’s will advance on the track and win the zone tile.  Now be careful because to fail a battle means that Thanos will get a threat counter and inevitably if he completes this track he claims that zone tile!

With the end of turn flip where these Thanos counters get added or advance puts a nice bit of urgency and conflict to the game.

Could this be the future of my gaming?  Let’s have a go!

To start the Battle world I randomly take 4 battle cards and add a Thanos Stone one.

So I am going to start with one hero, with one to rescue. Captain Marvel to start with Goose to rescue.

With a fantastic roll 12 the star!  to start Marvel wins the first tile. (The auto miss or 1 is the face of Thanos).

The next tile is flipped and placed, not a great result as it’s a miss and Thanos gets his first win.

With the new tile coming out as a Thanos stone, Marvel commits to rescuing her pal Goose.

The coin flip was not kind it moved threat, but when Goose was release that little cat won the game!
