It’s a Sham!

Starting to enjoy the simplicity and randomness of “sham style” battles.   You can slot in a variety of different rule sets, I’ve been utilising Morschauser’s rules, the maps are pretty impressive and give the feel of quite a confrontation.  I did try with the bigger chits on this map but lost track for some reason, with the smaller chits I could track better with “sham” style rules and Morschauser’s.

Battle ready at the Bazzook frontier

I feel I may have placed a village too close to the frontier

Aftermath of a bloody action.

All this is great but time wise, even though I can leave the battle with notes the above confrontation will take a few days to complete.   Fantastic fun but I need it to fit a 20 minute session so am working on A4 again.

Normally the forces for a double map would be 28 trays for Morschauser’s A3 sized, so I will just half this for the A4 maps.

Breaking the forces down into meaningful contingents is another thing I found makes for a good gaming experience.

The 28 initial chits/trays divide up into 4 contingents of 7 troops, so it gives a bit of a random element that can turn up in the area of battle.

Battle in progress, the attack of the mighty Bazooks!

Another upset for the Company and Sir Royce! Those Bazooks are becoming quite a menace!
