The accident

I found a deck of cards… hang on that’s not the beginning.  I had this idea of running a battle or war some kind of conflict.  I’ve been piecing bits together, and wondering how I could do it, with looking at the small box parlour games I had an idea, but needed a set of cards.

Visiting dear momma today, lo be I find a deck of standard playing cards and it would be rude not to set down something, then the something was entertaining enough to take a little further and, well here is what’s happening now.

Battle zone is made up of all face cards, the jokers will not be used.  The first lines are dealt, then the reserves, there should be 3 cards in each reserve pile, these will be the number cards.

For the zone bonus draw there is a discard pile next to it.

Player 1 decides which of the three war zones to attack.

Unfortunately he looses so player 2 wins that face card, both first lines are discarded and 1 reserve card from that line is moved forward from each player.  As player 2 won he gets to pick a battle zone part next.

The state of play table before player 2 chooses.

Seems luck is on player 2’s side at the moment that player is half way to victory!

Player 2 has won the game already but I continue just to check out the idea of the zone bonus draw… as luck would have it…

As you can see player 1 was going to win, but with the extra draw given to player 2 for having a heart card seems like 5:0

As accidents and “muck abouts” go this has been very entertaining.  Also with the cards as an aid quite easy to peel back ideas, add ideas and work on stuff that hits a snag.  Also gives me something different to do, so happy here.

  1. A nice game engine. There are some really good patience variants that could fire your imagination.
